The University of the Sunshine Coast Sports Stadium is an indoor arena at the Sippy Downs Campus. The arena was proposed for up-gradation to increase the seating capacity. Under the expansion scheme, new fixed seating arrangements and function room/meeting room along with its amenities at the eastern side were proposed to be added to form the new-look show court. The stadium facilities mainly include 3 netball, basketball, volleyball and futsal courts, 4 badminton courts, 1 international-sized futsal court, 1 indoor hockey court and timber sports thrust floor.
Fire Check Consultants were appointed to undertake a fire engineering assessment at the proposed building expansion at Indoor Sports Stadium. The Fire Engineering Report was prepared to address the non-compliance’s with the Deemed-to-Satisfy provisions of the National Construction Code and provide performance solutions.
