Fire Check Consultants (FCC) were engaged to provide a performance solution in relation to change of building classification, non-compliant openings and rationalisation of fire hydrant flow requirements.
This proposed residential development comprises of a basement and ground floor only. The basement was proposed to be used as a car park and the ground level for 10 residential units. All other aspects of the building design were assumed to be fully compliant with the Deemed-to-Satisfy (DtS) provisions.
To resolve the applicable DtS non-compliant issues, both qualitative and quantitative approaches were adopted. FCC worked with the client and Building Certifier to provide the solutions that minimised cost, maximised space, while also meeting the NCC 2016 performance requirements.
