Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) appointed Fire Check Consultants to provide consultants advice on the compartmentation and smoke separation and fire egress strategy at 153 Herries Street and 543 Ruthven Street, Toowoomba. Both buildings are four storeys and are occupied by TRC employees. There was also a Class 7a carpark below the ground floor. The objective of the assessment was to determine how the egress strategy can be improved so that occupants are afforded the maximum possible level of safety in the event of an evacuation and mitigating risk. FCC also provided fire protection design services for the improvement of fire protection arrangements in the building and produced unwanted fire alarm report.
