OVERVIEW
Fire Check Consultants (FCC) were engaged to provide a performance solution in relation to maintaining fire separation between town houses and car park, providing safe egress to townhouses, and structural members within 900 mm of the allotment boundary.
FCC worked with the client to provide a solution that ensured safety throughout, for fire separation, egress and structural adequacy. The proposed performance solution consisted of providing other forms of fire separating construction. To safe safeguard the structural stability of town-houses, in case a fire, all steel members near to the boundary were proposed with specific ESA/m ratio that provided an equivalent Fire Resistance Level (FRL) to Deemed-to-Satisfy (DtS) provisions.
