FCC provided fire engineering services in relation to the external façade of 66 buildings located across various UQ Campuses in QLD. The sites included the campuses at St Lucia, Long Pocket, Gatton, Heron Island Research Station, Toowong, Woolloongabba, Toowoomba, Dunwich, Indooroopilly, Herston and Rockhampton. The objectives and purpose of the work were to provide all necessary documentation to complete Safer Buildings Part 3, provide immediate fire risk mitigation measures, provide compliant solutions (or alternative) and approximate costing for the permanent rectification of each building. After eight months of hard work, FCC completed the inspections and provided the Building Fire Safety Risk Assessment Report (BFSRA) and Form 35s. FCC also held three presentations for the Properties and Facilities team, and two meetings with the representatives from the insurer, on moving forward with Performance Solution for nominated buildings. The University of Queensland was on the path to an overall cost saving of up to $13.5 Million by adopting FCC’s Performance Solutions for the nominated buildings.
