Fire Check Consultants were commissioned to review the egress plan and strategy for ‘The Brightside Brisbane’ located in Fortitude Valley QLD. The venue was not permitted to accommodate an excess of 200 people including staff. Applying NCC Volume One Clause D1.6 and adopting a conservative approach, the maximum number of persons allowed based on the three available egress doors. Further, the maximum number of persons allowed based on a potential future increase in door width leading to an alteration in exit width. All fire safety requirements and regulations were recommended to be maintained in accordance with the Building Fire Safety Regulation provisions to ensure persons can evacuate the building safely and quickly in the event of a fire.
