The existing Newmarket Shopping Centre was proposed to be redeveloped, with an eight new cinemas and new retail shops (located under the new cinema complex). FCC assessed non-compliances such as rationalisation of increased basement car park exit travel distances, rationalisation of opening protection between sprinklered and non-sprinklered parts, rationalisation of junction construction between FRL building elements and rationalisation of the smoke hazard management system provisions. The building performance requirements were deemed to be under Sections 61 and 68 of the Building Act.
