Fire Check Consultants were engaged to undertake a fire engineering assessment of the proposed nine storey residential building known as ‘Lawes Road Residence’ (PNG). The proposed building design contained certain non-compliant issues such as, number of exits, extended travel distances and omission of stair pressurisation. The intent of this Fire Engineering Report (FER) was to address the non-compliant issues with the Deemed-to-Satisfy (DtS) provisions of the NCC 2022 Volume One. The fire safety analysis performed in the report demonstrated that the building design achieved compliance with the relevant NCC Performance Requirement, subject to the adoption of the preventative and protective measures outlined in the report.
