Indooroopilly Shopping Centre Stage 7 was a $355 million development project completed in 2014. It encompassed 30,000 m² of new floor area, including a new mall and fresh food area, new retail stores, a new David Jones store, a refurbished Myer store, a new Coles as well as an outdoor dining precinct.
Fire Check Consultants (FCC) were engaged to provide performance based design solutions for occupant egress, smoke hazard management, building fire resistive levels, and exit signage.
Comprehensive use of computational fire models, qualitative rationale, and risk assessments were employed to demonstrate the performance solutions provided an appropriate level life and fire-fighter safety.
FCC were also commissioned to deliver the fire safety systems design and documentation for –
- Fire hydrants and hose reels
- Automatic fire sprinkler systems
- Fire detection and alarm systems
- VESDA fire detection systems
- Gas suppression system for the main electrical distribution network
