The Tyron Street apartment building comprises a basement, ground floor and seven upper levels. Whilst inspecting the building, QFES officers identified three non-compliances with the National Construction Code. The non-compliances were door of fire control room in central foyer causing obstruction, location of fire booster assembly within 10 m of the building line and pump clearance on the rear of the pump. To protect the life safety of the building occupants, a combination of NCC DtS perspective and performance-based requirements were considered and proposed. The Performance Solutions were accepted by all stakeholders, including QFES.
