Fire Check Consultants were engaged to provide a performance solution in relation to maintaining fire separation between town houses and car parks due to unprotected openings. The design was not complying with the National Construction Code (NCC) Volume Two Deemed-to-Satisfy (DtS) provisions.
The performance solution was to construct a fire rated bulkhead inside the roof void space over the private garage, for an extended horizontal distance from the common wall. The proposed design arrangement provided equivalent compliance with the NCC Volume Two DtS provisions.
