Fire Check Consultants were engaged in providing a Performance Solution for the NCC DtS design departures identified by the Building Certifier. The identified issues included set downs in wet areas, vertical separation of openings in external walls, protection of openings in external walls, bounding construction of the lift shaft, exit travel distance, fire stair discharge, protection of external stairway from external wall openings, fire hydrant booster within 10 m of the external wall and clearance around the fire pump. The formulated Performance Solutions satisfied the applicable NCC Performance Requirements by using assessment methodologies in accordance with NCC Clause A0.5 and analysis techniques specified in the International Fire Engineering Guidelines.
